4 NEW BREED REGISTRIES
For those of you who are puzzled about what registry your horse falls into, here are some new options:
The American BUBBA Registry - for horses who display unusual four-gait characteristics, specifically the "no forward mo", "creeping stop", "clipping shuffle", and "mosey". Most will be former quarterhorses whose long stays out on pasture have caused them to forget previous training. Requirements are well-developed and ingratiating puppy dog personalities and a deadly fondness of horse treats.
The BOGO Registry - for horses that demonstrate distinct split personalities. These creatures can show up one at a time, two at a time or none at a time, but you know you have bought one and gotten the other free. An additional desired characteristic is heavy two-sidedness under saddle.
The DIVA/DIVO Registry - for horses of all breeds, but mostly Arabians. Strict requirements exist - low and circular head-tossing, high tails no matter what the time of day, ears pinned at the rest of the herd whenever a treat-bearing human approaches (and at all other times). This is the only new registry that has clothing requirements for horses - sequined halters, color of saddle pads must match training boots and rider's t-shirt.
The EQUINE Killdeer Registry - for horses that are suddenly lame only under certain optimum conditions, such as being tacked up for riding or worked on a longe line. Requirements are consistent intermittent lameness, offset by soundness at all other times, especially when at play in the meadow.
