PRIOR to moving your horse(s) into a new stables
1. Visit “new to be stables” at least 2 times unannounced.
2. Visit “new to be stables” right after it rains.
3. Take note of what is done with horse “waste”.
4. Ask for references list (and call the references on the list).
5. Note that stalls are cleaned daily.
6. Look at all water receptacles.
7. Ask to look at the feed room.
8. Note quality of the hay and feed.
9. Ask if feed units are tightly covered at night.
10. Note the temperature in the feed room area.
11. Walk the property where your horse(s) will be grazing.
12. Note the condition of all paddocks and fence lines, etc.
13. Note what type of snaps and/or locks are on all gates.
14. Note the lighting that will be in use at night, including all night lighting.
15. Ask questions prior to moving into any stables.
16. Visit your horse at least twice per month.
17. Pay board and expenses on time to avoid any late fees.
